What is a psychoeducational evaluation?

A psychoeducational evaluation is an in-depth look at how someone thinks, learns, and functions — typically combining cognitive testing, academic testing, and measures of attention or social-emotional wellbeing. It's used to identify learning disabilities, ADHD, giftedness, and other factors affecting school performance.

How long does an evaluation take?

Testing is generally completed across 2-3 sessions. The full process from intake to final report typically takes 8-10 weeks, depending on the complexity of the evaluation. 

Do you accept insurance?

We are private pay only, and do not accept insurance or write super bills. 

What are your fees, and do you offer a sliding scale?

What areas do you serve?

In-person services are based in/around Campbell, CA. Telehealth is available to clients anywhere in California.

Is an evaluation different from testing done at school?

Our evaluations provide a comprehensive view of your child's strengths and areas for growth. We also explain why they are struggling, by providing a diagnosis if appropriate. School-based evaluations are free. They do not provide a diagnosis, but instead consider eligibiliity for special education services. 

Will an evaluation automatically result in an IEP? 

No. A private evaluation can provide valuable information about a student's learning and developmental needs, but eligibility for special education is determined by the school district through its own process.
